INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT
Urbanscape partners with a wide variety of investors including institutional investors such as insurance companies, pension funds and opportunity funds as well as private equity investors. The company also provides investment management services to its clients in order to identify opportunities based on their specific investment criteria. Urbanscape helps its clients with underwriting prospective investment opportunities by preparing market surveys, project budgets and proformas. Jon C. Wood - President of Urbanscape Development, Inc.
Mr. Wood administers all facets of development, including site selection, market and financial analyses, due diligence, product design, entitlements, permits, financing, construction, property and asset management, risk management, and strategic planning. During his 22 year career, Mr. Wood has developed numerous multifamily and mixed-use projects throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions – including over 8,500 apartments – with a combined market capitalization of more than $2.0 billion.
Prior to Urbanscape, Mr. Wood was the Southeast Managing Director of Development for Hines, where he launched and oversaw the multifamily development platform in the Southeast region. While at Hines, Mr. Wood orchestrated the development of several multifamily projects comprising more than 2,000 units. Prior to joining Hines, Mr. Wood was the East Coast Division Partner for The Morgan Group, a national multifamily development firm based in Houston. He was responsible for managing multifamily development projects in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Mr. Wood has also held multifamily development positions at Archstone in Washington, DC and Trammel Crow Residential in Florida.
Mr. Wood earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Florida, with concentrations in Real Estate, Finance and Entrepreneurship, where he took first place in the program’s Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition. He also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, Cum Laude, from Rollins College. Mr. Wood is an active member of the National Multi Housing Council, Urban Land Institute, and University of Florida Friends and Alumni of Real Estate. He also served as a Director on the University of Florida Real Estate Advisory Board.
